We had a really exciting weekend – on Saturday we photographed a wedding upstate NY and thanks to the gas situation that super-storm Sandy created, we were not even sure we would get home that night. We had enough gas in our car to get to the wedding but not to come back 🙂 – luckily upstate gas was a lot less of a problem! Despite the hurricane and gas issues, guests arrived from all over the world and we all had a blast at the Falkirk Estate & Country Club, alongside wonderful people. Working with a planner and band that we’ve worked with before was an added bonus!
On Sunday, great planning and music continued and I got a chance to cover a benefit concert organized by BandSlam NYC . BandSlam is a brain child of Jeremy Berman, who we became friends with while shooting his wedding last year. The event was fantastic and truly meaningful, especially considering that the city is recovering from such devastation at the moment. Kudos to all the bands and attendees that made it to the event despite suspended subway trains and almost no available gas. All the proceeds from the event were donated to the Sandy relief effort and thanks to a generous matching donation program, the amount was tripled by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation – all thanks to their chief programs officer, Andrea Berman! – go Andrea!! 🙂
I feel honored to have been a part of two great life events this weekend, filled with love, support, perseverance, generosity and …. great music :)!!!
Here is Jeremy introducing the first band! – keep up the good job buddy! 🙂
Jeremy and his two partners in crime – Jordan and Navriti – you did an amazing job organizing this event despite all the challenges!!!
