Cara and Xi’s wedding is one of those amazing and happy stories of our times, especially for us New Yorkers. When I met the girls just 2 years ago, all that they were hoping to do was a civil ceremony since New York State hadn’t legalized same sex marriages yet. Fast forward two years and the girls got legally married in a beautiful Jewish ceremony that was filled with joy, laughter and tears :). In fact, it’s quite serendipitous that we are posting Cara and Xi’s wedding today – since exactly a year ago – on July 24th, 2011 was the first day gay couples were allowed to legally marry in New York State!
The Ladies love NYC and all the different and unique parts of it, so for the portrait photos they, very appropriately, chose to go to The High Line since it is certainly one of most unique parks you can find anywhere :).
Tisch is definitely one of my favorite parts of the Jewish wedding ceremony – it is always filled with so much humor and wisdom … and in this case…. yummy pastries 😉
Yep… LEGALLY Married… right at this moment!!! YAY…
The flower girl was so adorable, you could eat her up. And she is a star in the making – the aisle was her stage and she decided to explore it for a while, running back and forth and throwing those petals… its was just too cute!!!
In case the dancing in the aisle isn’t a dead give-away, these two were SO HAPPY to be married!!!!
Most original flowers and centerpieces we have ever seen – made by a good friend of Cara and Xi, entirely of metal…. we loved them!
This wedding.. FUN?!? Really… How could you tell??? 😉
A friend at the wedding announced the arrival of the cake as: ” The gay-est Cake to come out of Brooklyn” (it was probably made in Brooklyn, we are not sure) … We think that is hilarious and awesome!!!! 🙂 That is one Rockin’ Cake!
That’s what a group hug is supposed to look like 🙂
Cara & Xi – Congratulations!!! It was a celebration long in the making, but it ended up being perfect!!!! And we were honored to be there.
