Other professional photographers always told me in my first few months of working at weddings, that I should have a few alternate photographers I can reach out to, in case something unexpected happens to me and I can’t shoot – it is life after all, and things happen. And I have always tried to keep in touch with people I have met at conferences and workshops, but deep down, I don’t think any of us really think that anything can prevent us from showing up to someone’s special day. Let’s face it, I have photographed weddings with 102 fever, pulled back muscles during the day, etc. so it was REALLY hard to make a call to Helene the day before the wedding, when I accidentally hurt my foot in such a way that I couldn’t put any pressure, far else walk without seeing stars for several days! It was even more disappointing since Helene’s brother, Rob is a prior groom of the FedorovFoto growing clan :). And Natalia and I love almost nothing more, then seeing past wedding clients and familiar faces at new weddings! It makes the day more fun and boosts our confidence because it means our clients are recommending us. Which is awesome – thank you!
Natalia stepped in and photographed Helene & David’s wedding instead, and Arthur Sargsian, whose photos you have seen numerous times on the blog – second shot. Although, I would have preferred to be a part of the day in person, going through the photos was still very special. Helene & David, you guys have a very pure and warm love and it was so heartwarming to see you two, looking so incredibly happy!!! Natalia really enjoyed being back at the Immaculate Heart of Mary, it truly is a beautiful church. The newest addition to the family, Helene’s nephew, Paul is just too cute for words and you guys certainly know how to dance and party!!! Enjoy reliving your wedding … I know I certainly enjoyed being there through Natalia’s lens.
Nervous and thrilled at the same time… first looks always have such energy and emotion. Different from the walking down the aisle moment, but equally powerful.
Both Natalia and I couldn’t narrow down our favorites from the next five photos – so I blogged all of them 😉 … because its my blog and I can!
Meet Paul! His parents, Judy and Rob, are moving to Connecticut soon, which we are very excited about! Not just because CT is lovely, but also, we hope this means we will all, meet him again soon 😉
Natalia loves this shot that Arthur took during the dancing… There are a lot of awesome things happening right there!
Helene & David – Congratulations again on an incredible day! I wish you two a lifetime of happiness and hope you and your families, will continue to keep in touch and include us in your celebrations and milestone moments ;)!
